本研究在於探討高階管理團隊與員工酬勞差距對企業經營經績效之影響,以及產業競爭是否會影響酬勞差距與經營績效之關係。實證結果指出,高階管理團隊與員工酬勞差距較大之公司,企業經營績效較佳;此實證結果隱含,給予高階管理團隊優渥酬勞對公司價值創造是有用的。另本研究發現,高階管理團隊酬勞與競爭力交乘項對企業經營結果呈負向影響,顯示產業競爭會降低酬勞差距對公司績效提升之作用;亦即,在較為競爭激烈之產業,擴大高階管理團隊與員工酬勞差距較無助於公司經營績效之提升。
This study examines the impact of compensation gap between top management team (TMT) and employees on firm performance and whether inter-industry competition af-fects the above relationship. Our empirical results show that compensation gap is positive-ly associated with firm performance, implying that offering top managers high compensa-tion is beneficial to shareholders. In addition, the interaction variable of Compensation Gap and Competition is negatively associated with firm performance. Such a result indi-cates that competition weakens the impact of compensation gap on firm performance.
