This documentary project employs visual anthropology and ethnography to document the Filipino domestic worker that has taken care of this author since she was born. Through this Filipino domestic worker, this documentary is able to be in contact and follows Filipino female migrant workers in Hong Kong, to understand the “dislocation” they have experienced under the “power geometry” of globalization. In return, the author is reflexing on her position as both the beneficiary and the imposing observer within this structure. Through the daily routines, local holidays, social occasions, personal feelings/stories, this documentary records the contribution of migrant workers to their residing society, Hong Kong, and those resistances, connections, and frustrations of social and family relations limited and framed by power geometry.
