All eight-link linkages with 10 joints and one degree of freedom are analyzed. An eight-link linkage becomes a seven-link structure with one joint being fixed. In this work, 16 eight-link linkages are considered. Accordingly, 160 seven-link linkages in total can be obtained corresponding to 160 joints. All related seven-link linkages can be further sorted into 21 different types. The maximum number of possible configurations of these types is 8, 12, 14, 16, or 18.
