筆者衷心希望透過此論文能讓台灣人更了解身為自家人的「韓國華僑」,讓韓國華僑在生存上能少一分孤立之感,也希望透過此論文能讓台灣政府、韓國政府,以及民間團體能更加正視旅外國人的需要。期盼未來韓國華僑在對自己家 (台灣人)介紹自己的時候也能少一分解釋,並對於自己生活於韓國這塊領土能再多一分驕傲。
“ Overseas Chinese of South Korea” have lived in Korean Peninsula for more than 130 years. That is, the history of Overseas Chinese of South Korea is a century old. In this a hundred year, being treated as foreigners, how did overseas Chinese of South Korea live together in Korean Peninsula with Koreans and what difficulties have they been through? The changes of social status of the overseas Chinese of South Korea and the changes that lead to the social status will be discussed in this essay.
Besides, the nationality of Overseas Chinese of Korea belongs to Republic of China; however, Taiwanese people are extremely unfamiliar with them. Instead, South Koreans are more familiar with Overseas Chinese of Korea. This situation is relatively unique. It seems that outsiders understand more than people on our own side. Therefore, the purpose of this essay is to make Taiwanese people realize and understand what “ Overseas Chinese of South Korea” is.
This essay mainly analyses and probes into the development of Overseas Chinese of South Korea in Korean Peninsula through history and inquire into the impacts that Overseas Chinese of South Korea society exert from policy, economy and social perspectives. Thereby the possible suggestions and directions on how to improve the life of Overseas Chinese of South Korea will be proposed. In hope that Overseas Chinese of South Korea will integrate naturally like the Overseas Chinese in other countries.
The author sincerely hopes Taiwanese people will understand more about “ Overseas Chinese of South Korea” which is our own blood. The feeling of being isolated will no longer exist among Overseas Chinese of South Korea and hope that Taiwanese government, South Korean government and non-government organizations confront the needs of Taiwanese living overseas. Less explanation about introducing themselves is expected from Oversea Chinese of South Korea to Taiwanese in the future and it is hoped Overseas Chinese of South Korea will take more pride in Korean soil in which they live.
