Abstract:	早在盎格魯．撒克遜時期，翻譯便被視為引介知識、改善國民素質的主要方法，然而，聖經的英譯本卻一直延看到十六世紀宗教改革時期才真正開花結果，期間歷經譯經禁令、教派鬥爭、宗教迫害、殉道與流亡、重譯與修訂等等諸般渡折，並有無數學者、譯人、信徒為之戮力奔走，不惜犧牲生命，終於使英文聖經成為英國宗教信仰中極為重要的奠基石。本文試圖重塑十六世紀英文聖經翻譯的歷史背景，重新梳理聖經英譯本的源流及各版本之間的關係，藉此突顯其中所涉及的政治與宗教議題，並透過丁道爾、卡佛岱爾及羅杰斯的三種譯本之比較，探討譯者之間不同的翻譯傳承、翻譯策略、注解方法及對譯經的態度，以說明聖經翻譯與宗教論爭之間互為影響的微妙關係。
