Science the financial market openness and liberalization, banks increase soon and there have more competition in the bank industry, performance has become the most important issue that enterprise always concern. In order to increase the performance, every bank have to find the person who is provided with a leadership ability to lead company employee to achieve the goal. Due to leadership performance different between west and asia culture, our study use paternalistic leadership theory, to explore the relationship in leadership style, trust and performance.
The sample of research includes 307 employees of cathay united bank head office. The study find out that (1) Benevolence and moral leadership have positive impact on trust and employee’s performance;authoritarianism leadership has negative impact on trust and employee’s performance;(2) Trust has positive impact on employee’s performance;(3) Trust has the mediating effect between leadership style and employee’s performance.
