The purpose of the study is to examine the relationship between work autonomy, work stressors and creativity. Data are provided by R&D employees. The study controls demographics, internal control and the innovative climate variables to test the main effect and interactive effect between work autonomy, work stressors and creativity. Three main findings are summarized as follows: 1.The work method autonomy has no influence but the work criteria autonomy has positive influence on creativity. 2.Work load and role conflict have positive influence on creativity. Role ambiguity has negative influence on creativity. 3.Interactions between work autonomy and work stressors on creativity are not found. The authors discussed the implications for theory and managerial practice, and made suggestions for further study.
