摘要:	對詹姆士、喬依思而言，隱喻是建構《尤利西斯》主題並引出真理的重要手法之一，因為他善於活用隱喻把現實的多而向巧妙帶出來。本篇論文將舉例論證喬依思如何運用隱喻，上從歷史典故，下至日常生活，例如音樂與食物，來構築愛爾蘭人與世界互通的橋樑。透過語言的戲耍，輕鬆如緊生命的共同意義。 For James Joyce, metaphor has been one of the major structural and thematic principles of Ulysses, assimilating truth into his work. Joyce revitalizes metaphors to play out the many-faceted reality. Trying to make metaphors represent points of view and strengthen the illusion of self-sufficiency, Joyce utilizes both historical allusions and the styles he parodies to define the fundamental relationship between words and reality in Ulysses, Besides, metaphors built upon the mundane, typically music and food, show how Joyce has established a bridge for people around the world to enter the Irish world, thus globalizing the Irish experience while localizing the universal.
