Christina Rossetti, one of Victorian England's greatest poets, had a rich and complex relation to the visual arts because she was a member of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood (PRB), which was founded by her brother Dante Gabriel. Both her religious works and "Goblin Market" to many people represented Pre-Raphaelitism in poetry. Christina Rossetti in her "Goblin Market" employs the technique of word-painting to convey narrative details, to create the mood of scenes, and to present thematic motifs.
