Dance is the art of human body; meanwhile, it also has a therapeutic function for the people with disability. Learning dance not only improving their social relationship and communication skills, but also improving their acting ability.
The researcher works as a dance teacher in the nursing institution,she realized that children have learn from previous dance in a mechanized way. It’s just moving mechanically without understanding. It would be directly applied to students, makes the children become passive learning.
Therefore, through the discovery teaching of dance, students can combine the original experience with new elements of motion. In order to help students to understand and have a good connecting the dance movement on improving motion of the motor-mental retardation..
In the process of teaching, the researcher has collected the data of “the records of the participate teachers and observer ”, “notes of contemplate” and the related literature for the before and after using the discovery dance and done the data analysis. There are two results of research as follows: First, went through the teaching style of discovery dance, students would have good connecting of the experience and the movement, in order to improve the dynamic of learning. Second, the students have better accomplishment after using teaching style of heuristic dance. The inference of the study, the teaching style of discovery dance would have advanced the motor-mental retardation to movement.
