透過此種研究架構來解釋過去歷史現象,而非採用自己主觀意見來解讀中央通訊社在兩岸關係中的角色變遷,既不失客觀性,也有所依據。但是,模式的套用是否合適,仍需嚴謹的批判。
Press organization is a part of political and social system. Therefore, totalitarianism has totalitarian press, communism must have communist press and capitalism countries have liberal press of capital markets. Any kind of press is served or governed by political and social systems of its countries. Since 1949, the relationship between both sides of the Cross Straits has experienced many changes of political contents and society. This research mainly discussed media's role and its change in this process.
This research is examined by literature analysis and theoretical generalization as research methods. The Central News Agency (CNA) has been taken as a research's sample and found that the press media does play a corresponding role in the process of changing of the relationship between the Cross Straits. The CNA was a propaganda tool for totalitarianism when both side were confronting. Moreover, the CNA was in charge of both supplying public service and strengthening its influence in international society under Three Principle of People theory during the conflict between both sides for legal authority. While the tensions of the Cross Straits are much more eased, the CNA takes responsibilities as a mutual and professional press media for public interests.
Instead of arguing by subjective opinion, this research is driven by the framework as above about the changing of CNA's position to explain the historical phenomena, which is objective and reliable. However, this paradigm still needs rigorous criticism whether it is sustainable for this research.
