Background: Different teaching methods can affect students' learning outcomes, interests, motivation, and physical abilities. Finding a teaching model that is suitable and can arouse children's interest, even to the point where they review what they have learned in class at home, has always been the goal of dance rhythm educators. Objective: this study aims to analyze the effectiveness of children's dance courses using the laban system curriculum teaching model. Methods: This study conducted a 14-week dance rhythm teaching course, with one 90-minute session per week, for a popular dance club at an elementary school in new taipei city. Four children were purposefully recruited as research subjects. During the course, the children's learning situations were observed through video recordings. After the dance course, individual in-depth interviews were conducted using a qualitative semi-structured interview method to collect children's feedback on the teaching model. Results and Discussion: The researcher found that integrating elements of the laban system into the self-designed teaching model provided positive learning motivation and feedback from the research subjects. The subjects gained insights into the use of body parts, dance skills, music rhythm mastery, and team cooperation. Conclusion and Recommendations: The teaching model in this study achieved good results in children's self-learning cognition, dance skills, and positive learning attitudes. It is recommended that future children's dance rhythm teaching models refer to the course design strategies of this study to promote mutual progress and growth between children's dance learners and educators.
