This paper adopts qualitative research method, trying to gain an in-depth under standing of the parenting style, parenting pressure and life experience of stay-at-home mothers during the covid-19 epidemic from the observation of family dyn amics. Questions explored in this study: (1) To explore the life experience of stay-at-home mothers during the epidemic? (2) To explore the parenting styles of stay-at-home mothers during the epidemic? (3) To explore the sources of stress for stay-at-home mothers during the epidemic?
This study interviewed six full-time mothers as research subjects. Interview analysis found that women after marriage. When you enter the family and go through the process of having children, you begin to assume the role of the main caregiver in the family.Once she quit her job and became a full-time housewife, she experienced the tangible and intangible pressures of marriage, childbirth, education, and raising children. The pressure of a stay-at-home mother has not diminished due to the changes of the times and the convenience of life. Looking back since the outbreak of the epidemic, the burden on stay-at-home mothers to take care of their children has become even heavier. The research results were analyzed and summarized through interviews and the following conclusions were drawn: (1) The covid-19 epidemic disrupted life, and stay-at-home mothers did feel the changes in their motherhood during the epidemic; (2) The parenting styles of stay-at-home mothers during the epidemic were affected by the epide mic, because their children school closures and illness diagnoses require more energy and time than before the epidemic; (3) During the epidemic, stay-at-home mothers have indeed experienced changes in the sources of stress brought about by the epidemic; do stay-at-home mothers have available internal and external resources, as well as full-time mothers? The physical, psychological, spiritual, economic, and social changes experienced by mothers at different levels during the epidemic have become more prominent during the epidemic.
Finally, based on this research, suggestions are put forward for the governmen t's major epidemic response measures, and what preparations should be made as parents when encountering the epidemic? It is hoped that schools and government units will pay more attention to stay-at-home mothers and provide substantial help and child welfare. Make progress and seek more positive and deeper meanings for future reference.
