In the latter half of the 20th century, human economic activity and energy use became the main causes of carbon dioxide emissions. Although global carbon dioxide emissions declined in 2020 due to the pandemic, they rose sharply again in 2021. The Paris Agreement was passed in 2015 with the goal of keeping the global average temperature rise to within 2°C by 2100. As of now, 142 countries worldwide have proposed Net Zero targets. Taiwan also released the "Taiwan 2050 Net Zero Emission Path and Strategy General Description" in 2022, proposing "energy, industry, life, society" four major transformations and "twelve key strategies". Among them, "vehicle electrification and decarbonization" and "net zero green life" are two concepts to promote people-centered green transportation to improve the cycling environment, such as bicycle-friendly driving spaces, public bicycle stations, and commuting bicycle lane systems, etc., to provide a safe and convenient cycling environment, encourage people to increase their use and achieve carbon reduction goals. In line with the concept of sustainable development, Taipei City established the public bicycle system (YouBike) in 2009, positioning Taipei City's public bicycles as one of the low-carbon transfer vehicles for the first and last miles of public transportation, and continuously constructing the city's bicycle road network. This study takes Taipei City as an example, reproduces its annual bicycle road network spatio-temporal distribution, and the distribution of Taipei City public bicycle stations, and through the calculation method of effectively reducing carbon dioxide emissions by riding bicycles and spatial analysis methods, analyzes the carbon dioxide emissions reduced by the use of Taipei City public bicycles compared to different vehicles, as a basis for relevant units to plan bicycle road networks or set up Taipei City public bicycle stations. According to the spatio-temporal analysis results of YouBike's comparison of carbon dioxide emissions from various vehicles from 2016 to 2023, Daan District is the administrative district with the most carbon reduction, and the carbon reduction effect of gasoline cars being replaced is the best. The rental volume of public bicycles and the reduction of carbon dioxide are related to population density, land use zoning, and the surrounding road network of bicycles in 2023.
