The objective of this study is to explore the reuse of industry resources generated by graduation activities of institutions of higher learning, and to conduct an in-depth study with Taiwan's colleges and universities as the main research subjects. In terms of research methodology, this study employs semi-structured in-depth interviews and data collection methods to analyze the types, quantity, and degree of implementation of reuse of industry resources generated by graduation activities of institutions of higher learning, as well as the issues affecting reuse of such resources. This study revealed that a significant amount of resources is used in graduation activities, such as publicity materials, graduation photos and related items, gifts and venue decorations. Still, the degree of recycling and reuse is low, because the concept of reusing resources has not yet been widely advocated and adopted.
A further analysis was conducted on the factors affecting the reuse of resources in the industry related to the graduation activities of institutions of higher learning. The study concluded that the key factors are the lack of awareness and capabilities in reusing resources, the inadequacy of existing policies, and the high cost associated with reuse. In terms of specific actions to address the waste of resources, examples include establishing recycling systems and regulations, applying AI generative tools in industries to unlock new blue oceans in the industry, the collaborative recycling platform framework, and improving reuse and economic efficiency. Therefore, this study proposes specific strategies and reference materials for the reuse of resources in industries related to graduation activities of institutions of higher learning in order to provide relevant decision makers and practitioners with future improvement directions, to achieve the goal of net-zero emissions of resources in industries related to graduation activities. |
