China has a long history and culture of five thousand years. The traditional ink and wash figure has a unique role in the long history. With the development of the times and the progress of emancipation, Western artistic ideas were introduced into China, and Western artistic ideas and expressions also influenced traditional Chinese art. Under the collision of Eastern and Western ideas, the expression of the ink figure has also undergone significant changes.
Mainland China has a large population, with 55 ethnic minorities in addition to the Han Chinese. The different nationalities bring different sensory experiences to the public. This paper aims to explore the beauty of traditional Chinese ethnic costumes and the expression of characters' costumes in traditional ink painting.
The main subject of the painting is the women wearing different ethnic traditional costumes to present the spiritual outlook of women under the different fashionable dresses of modern times. The different costume characteristics of the ethnic minorities show the diverse dressing style of the ethnic minorities in mainland China.
The use of traditional Chinese ink and wash brushwork, combined with Western stylistic concepts and the combination of Chinese and Western painting techniques and effects, adds to the beauty of the author's creation.
