This study was aimed to investigate the risk factors related to cardiovascular disease for the emergency and critical nursing staffs of regional hospital in north Taiwan and to serve as a reference for health management of emergency and critical nursing workers in the future. The research adopted a retrospective research method. The research subjects were divided into night shift work and non-night shift work groups, and their labor situation and physical examination results were investigated, including gender, age, years of seniority, working hours, blood pressure, body mass index, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, total cholesterol, triglycerides, and Framingham Coronary Heart Disease Risk Score. The aforementioned data were analyzed by using the “SPSS 24.0 for Windows” package software with various statistical analysis methods, including descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson product-moment correlation.
The risk impact factors of cardiovascular disease for the subjects of this study maybe as follows: 1. Age is significantly positively correlated with diastolic blood pressure (r=0.215, p>0.05) and total cholesterol (r=0.245, p>0.05). 2. Total seniority in nursing is significantly positively correlated with diastolic blood pressure (r=0.249, p>0.05), total cholesterol (r=0.278, p>0.01), and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (r=0.280, p>0.01). 3. The seniority of emergency and critical care nurse is significantly positively correlated with systolic blood pressure (r=0.252, p<0.05) and total cholesterol (r=0.239, p>0.05).
