Contemporary children were born in the digital age, and the key to influence on the children’s use of 3C products is their parents. The study discuss the impact of personality traits, media literacy, parenting practices, and leisure time on children's use of 3C products from 297 public and private kindergarten parents in New Taipei City.
Stepwise regression results indicated that parenting practices, media literacy, and personality traits to effect on children's use of 3C products. In parenting practices, authoritative parents were more involved in the use of children's 3C products. Indulgent parents were reduce the frequency, time and reasons for children's use 3C products. Authoritarian parents let children use 3C products to learn, and neglectful parents were more often let children to use 3C products and less intervention. In media literacy, parents were more reflections on media representations to the reduce the frequency and reasons for children's use 3C products. The higher of parents reflection on audience awareness and overall media literacy, they were more involved in the use of children's 3C products. Additionally parents were personality of neuroticism have more reasons for their children to use 3C products.
