This paper focuses on clarifying the ending pattern and meaning of the folktales of <I live in my fortune>. The female protagonist in this folktale, reflecting the fatalistic ideology of the enjoyment class that “everyone lives with their natural fortune.” is ousted by a conflict with her family. This story is categorized as a fortune story, but it does not stop at this, and ends up with a “happy ending” of reuniting with the family who expelled her. The theme of this is about wealth, the narrative structure itself is drawn as a W-shape structure by taking the elements of line and happiness for each paragraph and expressed as a mathematical function, and the curvature here becomes the source of the transmission power and interest of this folktale.
Looking at the final paragraph of each type as an ending and looking at the proportion of reunion pixels within these folktales, it is confirmed that at least half of both types have a happy ending by reuniting with their family. <My fortune>type, in order to fulfill the filial duty for her father, she reunites with her family. The <Butcher’s Daughter> type, expelled from her husband, can be seen as a reunion to protect the ‘faithfulness’ to the father-in-law and the real husband. Like this, while wishing for good luck and aiming for a life that is faithful to reality and instinct rather than status and face, Korean narrative literature still emphasizes the legitimacy of existing ethics through obvious themes.
Treating him with filial piety and fidelity to her father and her original husband, who had expelled her from them, is moral with wealth only when she reconciles with her father or husband who was on the line of confrontation and conflict, becomes a member of their family, and lives for the prosperity of their family. This is because wealth and ethics must co-exist for a perfect happy ending.
