    Abstract: 唐代湖南地區經濟發展較前代有所的進步,進步的農業耕作技術,使得糧食產量增加,手工業產品的多樣化和精緻化,伴隨著靈渠的重修及交通路線的改善與開拓,相當幅度地改善了南北交通,使得湖南地區的交通運輸便利不少,並促進商業貿易的繁榮。由於唐代奠下的基礎,以及唐末五代時期馬楚政權的積極經營,湖南地區的整體經濟有更一步的發展。
    The economic development of Hunan Area in the Tang Dynasty made progress compared with the previous generations. The advanced agricultural farming technology increased the grain output, diversified and refined the handicraft products, and provided sufficient commodities for the market. The development and improvement of transportation routes have made transportation in Hunan Area a lot more convenient, and made commercial trade prosperous. Due to the foundation laid by the Tang Dynasty and the active management of the Ma Chu regime in the late Tang and Five Dynasties, the overall economy of Hunan has been further developed.
