Johannes Brahms(1833-1897), a German composer, was born in the romantic period. Although in his life, he composed many works, and most of his works are in mainly romantic style. However, you still can feel some classical style of music in his works. It is why Brahms is regarded as a composer who combined tradition and innovation.
This article gives an account of about Brahms’s Violin Sonata No.2, Op.100 (1886), its background, musical analysis, musical techniques, and the interpretation. In this violin Sonata, Brahms’s music has a strong emotion with such rich harmony colour that he wants to convey to people when they are playing his work. I hope that through this in-depth research and analysis, I can better understand Brahms’s music.
