This study is aimed at heightening the smartphone's learning and usage on the daily life of elderly age. The questionnaire with a Likert five-point scale were sampled from the age of 65 years old elderly people who have the experiences of using the smartphone in greater Taipei for this study. Cronbach’sαof the pre-tested questionnaires was the constant 0.838, which confirmed their validity and reliability. The data of 410 samples was investigated and 387 valid questionnaires were analyzed with the statistical software package SPSS for Window20.0 including the frequencies, percentage, means, standard deviation, independent sample t-test, ANOVA (Scheffe’s post hoc test performed in cases with significant difference.), pearson’s product–moment correlation, and multiple step-by step regression.
    The results are as follows:
    1. Elderly people’s smartphone learning behavior and usage have more participation, especially in the item of "learning content" and "leisure and information. "
    2. Elderly people’s smartphone’s learning behavior is positively correlated with usage, and the more willing to learn and operate, the better the usage.
    3. Elderly people’s smartphone’s learning behavior and usage indicate the positive correlation with the living quality, and effectively predict daily life satisfaction and happiness.
    4. Elderly people’s favorite function in smartphone is Line, and the most hoped-for function is health management.
    The suggestions are as follows:
    1. For the elderly:
Studies have shown that only about 8% of the participants participate in courses offered by community colleges. The elderly people should be encouraged to participate in the smartphone’s courses held by the community.

    2. For community colleges:
Widely open various courses of smartphone’s usage, and promote more to encourage the elderly enjoy the fun of learning and the convenience brought by high technology.
    3. For the smartphone’s industry:
Based on the hobbies, interests and the needs of the elderly people to design smartphones.
    4. For the government:
It is recommended that the government strengthen the connection between smartphone’s functions and health information in the "smart aging" part of the elderly people. It is recommended to cooperate with the hospital, join the Line group, implement simple health education, and provide the elderly people to keep pace with technology. Under the providing of safety and health from the government, it can create more happiness in the elderly’s life quality.
