出生於德國的韓德爾(George Frideric Handel, 1685-1759),是巴洛克時期重要的音樂家。他的一生中創作了大約30部宗教和通俗神劇,當中以《彌賽亞》(Messiah)最為著名。
本文首先藉由神劇背景了解年代、風格、發展,並透過韓德爾《彌賽亞》中女高音的三首宣敘調及四首詠唱調做為主要研究。藉由歌詞翻譯,了解每個字義,進行探討、研究與處理。
論文架構分為四章:第一章緒論分兩章節。研究動機與目的,闡述何以選定此題目、研究方法與步驟,如何進行研究,參考哪些方式與工具來完成此研究。第二章介紹韓德爾與神劇分四章節。韓德爾生平介紹、神劇的起源、探究神劇《彌賽亞》的創作背景與內容介紹以及神劇當中的宣敘調和詠唱調。第三章分七章節。將三首宣敘調及四首詠唱調分章節介紹,透過每首的歌詞翻譯、樂曲分析、演唱詮釋進行研究。第四章為本文的最後章節。總結前三章的內容進行結論統整。
Born in Germany, George Frideric Handel (1685-1759) was an important musician during the Baroque period. In his life, he created about thirty religious and oratorio, of which the most famous being, Messiah.
This text first explores the age, style and development of Handel’s Messiah through interpreting the soprano’s recitatives and arias. Through the translation of the lyrics and by understanding the meaning of each word - this recitative will serve as the main topic of research and discussion.
The paper is divided into four chapters: The first chapter is divided into two main parts. The first part being about research motivation and purpose and the second part examines research methods and steps. The second chapter introduces Handel and explores his most famous work, the oratorio Messiah, this is separated into four parts. The first part introduces Handel and his life. The second part discusses the origin of Messiah. The third part looks into the actual content of Messiah and the creative features. The last part focuses on the recitatives and arias in the oratorio. The third chapter introduces three recitatives tunes and four arias from the Messiah. This chapter explores the translation and musical analysis of each lyric, as well as interpreting the meaning of each song. The last chapter is a final summary and conclusion of the research.
