Taiwan is a society full of charity and love. There are tens of thousands of educational foundations and social organizations that issue various types of scholarships, hoping to help outstanding or poor students. However, because of the fragmented information, the scholarship information cannot be integrated. The scholarship unit cannot find suitable students, and the poor students lack a complete information network to obtain scholarship information.
In view of this, the Education Foundation of Taiwan, a non-profit organization, has integrated the current information construction platforms for various types of scholarships, and collect more than 10,000 scholarship information to reward Taiwanese students and foreign students studying in Taiwan. Currently, 260,000 students in Taiwan receive 2.6 billion NT dollors scholarships each year to help students get away from their status and increase social mobility.
This research puts forward several suggestions for educational institutions and scholarship providers. 1. The Ministry of Education should request all universities to make scholarships into APPs so that students can easily inquire. 2. Scholarship issuing organizations should actively log in to various inquiry systems for students to inquire. 3. Schools at all levels encourage students to apply for scholarships, and the application forms should be simplified or consistent for students' application; 4. Improve the visibility of scholarships. It is hoped that through some policies of the Ministry of Education and the school, students' application for scholarships can be significantly improved, and allow students can take the initiative to use scholarships to continue their studies during or after school in order to achieve the purpose of encouraging students and social mobility.
