本篇研究報告的主要目的是探討英語會話課程中,如何將理論與實際日常情況融 合運用。與二十年前相比,目前國內在接受西方文化的方式可說相當普遍,例如報章、雜誌 、電影,甚至電視節目等均唾手可得。但是,大學程度的英語外語教學仍非易事,對一位英 文教師來說,如何營造好的教學環境來適合學生的需要,以及如何以最有效的學習方法來教 導學生,仍是一大挑戰。據我的教學經驗,在課程的安排上總是以學生的興趣與需要為優先 考量,並且儘可能讓學生將學習所得實際運用在日常生活上。模擬日常生活情況,應用於學 生所學的會話,證實是很有效的教學方法。本文是英語會話班教學方法的個人例證。
This paper examines how I apply theories to practice in teaching English conversation. Compared with the situation twenty years ago, it is now much more convenient for us in Taiwan to get acquainted with Western culture through movies, magazines and even TV programs. However, it is still not an easy task to teach English as a foreign language at college level. How to create a good environment to meet every student's needs and what the best way is to let students learn a foreign language are obviously two of the toughest challenges for today's English teachers. In my teachini experience I am always very sensitive to the interests and needs of the students at different levels. To provide a simulated real-life situation for the students to apply thg conversation that they have just learned is proved to be an effective teaching method.
