Folk literature has always been passed through word of mouth, so naturally, the process to collect folk literature occurs through face to face interviews, where the interviewer actively listens and records the narrator's accounts. However, in today's age of the Internet, we often see stories, jokes, and the like, circulate through various types of digital media instead. Evidently, conducting interviews to obtain folk literature can also be accomplished online, thus this article discusses such a process and explores the possibilities and limitations associated with this nontraditional method of interviewing.
