    Abstract: 「蝸斗」是唐人《原化記》中〈吳堪〉篇所說之食火獸，形狀似狗。本文試探其原型，當是第十世紀前富豪用以溫酒取暖之獸形木炭。
    ＂Gua-dou＂ (蝸斗) is a magic animal, looks like a dog, and eats fire in the folktale Wu-kan (吳堪). This paper tries to indicate that the archetype of Gua-dou is an animal-shaped charcoal used to warm wine by the wealthy before the 10^(th) Century in china.
