Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative movement disorder of the central nervous system which especially impairs patients' motor skills, as well as the autonomic nervous functions and state of mind. Gait changes, balance difficulties, and adverse impact on health-related quality of life is the most important symptoms. Traditionally, medications and deep brain stimulation do not fully address gait and balance issues as medical treatments for PD. Despite mounting evidence regarding the importance of exercise for the general population and for those with PD, more than 50% of the general population does not meet the recommended daily level of physical activity. Due to multiple stimuli in hobbies and interests, dance may be a highly suitable intervention for individuals with PD recently. The evidence evaluated suggests that two or three 1-hour dance classes per week over 10 to 13 weeks may have beneficial effects. Based on effect, mechanisms, treatment standard, and benefits of dance for individuals with PD, a creative teaching plan will be discussed which is resulted from practical experience and different from the previous reach.
