A series of Fe thiolate carbonyl complexes bearing bdt ligands with OSiiPr3 substituents, including diiron complexes [{µ-3,6-(OSiiPr3)2-bdt}Fe2(CO)6] (bdt = 1,2-benzenedithiolate,1),[Q][{µ-3,6-(OSiiPr3)2-bdt}(PPh2)Fe2(CO)5] (Q = K+ (2), TBA+ = nBu4N+ (3), PPN+ = [Ph3P]2N+ (4)) and tetra-iron complexes [{µ-3,6-(OSiiPr3)2-bdt}2(PPh2)(µ-H)xFe4(CO)8][B(C6F5)4]x (x = 0 (5), 1 (6), 2 (7)) are synthesized. Complexes 1-7 are characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), mass spectrometry (MS) and elemental analysis (EA), nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR) and UV-vis spectroscopy. In addition, molecular structure of complexes 5-7 are elucidated by X-ray single crystal crystallography.
