摘要: | Intrinsic motivation is selecting to do an activity for no compelling reason, in the excess of the contentment derived from the activity itself. Many psycologists beleive that human beings are intrinsically motivated to look for and to master challenges. The desire to seek and to conquer challenges is at the heart of intrinsic motivation in the classroom. It is filled by student's psycho-academic needs to control their own decisions( autonomy); to do things that help them feel capable and effective (competence); th feel part of something larger than themselves (belonging and relatedness); to feel good about who they are (self-esteem);and to find pleasure in what they do (enjoyment and involvement) . This paper analyzes the above five needs and offers recommendations that teachers can use to assist all students in developing and maintaining intrinsic motivation for learning in the classroom. |
