摘要: | The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of a 13-week weight loss training program on female workers' physical fitness and health-related biochemical parameters. Subjects were 8 female workers between the ages of 24 and 35 who participated in a 13-week of weight loss training program involving diet and exercise. The exercise plan included two types of exercises: 60 minute functional aerobics-resistance cross-training; 3 times a week; and 15-20 minute static and ballistic stretches, 5 times a week. Exercise and diet diaries were kept by the participants to help them implement the program effectively. Both the physical and physiological status of participants was measured and examined periodically for necessary data which were analyzed with t-test and F-test by SPSS. After 13 weeks of training, body weight decreased by 8.37kgs (p<.05) and percentage body fat was lowered by 7.79% (p<.05). Body measurements (chest, abdomen, waist, hips, left upper arm, right upper arm, thigh and calf) also showed a significant decrease. Posttest biochemistry analysis values (UA, TC, TG, AC, blood sugar and blood pressure) had no significant positive charge, except for blood pressure. Physical fitness parameters including (cardiovascular endurance, resting pulse rate, lung capacity, flexibility, hand grip strength, back strength, muscular endurance, coordination and balance) showed significant improvement (p<.05). Results indicate that a 13-week weight loss program has proven its effectiveness in sculpting the body and enhancing the health-related fitness for female workers. |
