Purpose: Investigate the immediate effect of two different frequencies (muscle spindle stimulus frequency and lower-limb muscle resonance frequency) of whole body vibration on the performance of lower limbs. Methods: Thirteen healthy university students were recruited in this study. All of the subjects received 3 different intervention, which were high frequency vibration stimulation (HFV, frequency/amplitude: 32 Hz/1mm), low frequency vibration stimulation (LFV, frequency/amplitude: 18 Hz/3mm) and control (CON, no vibration stimulation) while they were doing squat training for 60 seconds in the frequency of 2 seconds per squat. Three consecutive counter movement jumps (CMJ3) and standing balance test (BT) with eyes closed were performed in the pre and post test of this study. Results: The height of counter movement jump in the third jump and impulse increased significantly between pre and post test after the stimulation (p < .05). In the single leg standing with eye closed balance test, the velocity of central of gravity and maximal distance movement were no significantly. Conclusions: The LF vibration intervention has the significant effect in improving the jump height and impulse of the third jump, but no effect on the balance ability.
