The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between lower-limb anaerobic power and base-running performance in youth softball player. Sixteen youth softball players participated in this study, with average ages 16.5±0.5 years, heights 162.4±6.1 cm and weights 59.5±7.3 kg. All subjects performed squat jump (SJ), counter movement jump (CMJ) on Kistler 9290 force platform, and 50 meters sprint, three kinds of base-running (one-base; two-base; four-base). Pearson Product-moment correlation analyses were conducted to determine the relationship between anaerobic power and base-running performance (α=.05). The results showed that SJ, CMJ height and 50 meters sprint time were significantly correlated with each base-running speed (-.503~-.907), but the CMJ height were not correlated with two-base running speed (r=-.454). The results of this study indicated the lower-limb anaerobic power is significantly correlated with base-running performance. Furthermore, the base-running skill is an important factor that influences the base-running speed.
