    Abstract: 骨骼肌肌纖維的分類是依據肌纖維的各種內在(生理、生化、組化)和外在(解剖、型態)特徵來進行劃分的,一方面瞭解肌肉的性質;另一方面探討肌肉的功能變化和適應。肌纖維在發育到肌管(myotube)階段時很細,尚未成熟,但可接受神經支配,此時若接受快神經支配則分化為快肌,反之,則變成慢肌纖維。當發育到成熟快、慢肌階段時,肌纖維不再增殖,因此出生後肌纖維數不再增加。然而,交叉神經支配或長期電刺激可使其類型轉變;且運動訓練不僅被證明可以改造肌纖維類型,而且還進一步的發現到可在肌球蛋白分子重鏈(MHC)上改變其構造。
