近年來我國普及的高等教育,伴隨著新數位媒體科技的蓬勃發展和遠距課程的 實踐推廣,高等教育與遠距教學的相關研究,已經逐漸成為科教硏究的熱門主題。 本篇文章說明遠距教學的意義、分類與特質,分享作者過去在美國經營遠距教學與 開發研究所及大學部之遠距課程之經驗,以及探討影響國內遠距教學發展重要因 素、遠距教學的挑戰,與遠距教學發展及未來前景。期盼對大學或研究所裡第一線 工作的教師、行政管理人員、研究人員和資訊人員能產生幫助,能進一步瞭解遠距 教學的本質、掌握其特性,從而有效並順利地從事和開展高敎之遠距教學。 With the recent trend of digital/multimedia technological advance and the growth of online course enrollments, distance learning has become a recognized method for delivering educational content and more and more popular in institutions of higher education. This paper details the classifications, identification and advantages and disadvantages of distance programs and shares the author’s experience in the development, management and delivery of distance programs. The key elements of a successful program, the challenge and future perspectives of distance programs are also addressed and discussed, including explain the roles/responsibilities of both the academic units and the administrative boards. Hope to provide an overview of the distance learning program, the research and processes that guided its expansion, and the partnership that can be formed to ensure for program success.
