《西遊記》的來源複雜,有歷史記載、佛教傳說、印度史詩、民間故事等。自佛教傳入中土之後,對中國各方面都產生極大的影響;以文學而言,漢譯佛典之體裁與後來的小說就有著直接關係,若論及故事,可資印證者更多,《西遊記》即為明顯之例。這部小說歷來研究者眾,論述亦豐,尤不乏大家之言。本文僅著重在《西遊記》與漢譯佛典的故事、情節及寫作筆法之間的關係做比較。就《增壹阿含經》、《佛說菩薩本行經》、《根本說一切有部毘奈耶雜事》等所見內容為例,略作論述,俾見舉一反三之效,亦可為其受印度民間故事和佛經影響之實證,再增具體之例。
The source of "Journey to the West" is complicated, which includes historical records, the Buddhist legends, Indian epics and folk tales. Since Buddhism was introduced to China, various aspects of China have a great impact. In literature, the genre of Chinese Buddhist scriptures and the later novels have a direct relationship. Addressed story can be confirmed by more, "Journey to the West" is the obvious example. This novel has been researched by many scholars. Treatises are also remarkable. This article only focuses on the comparison of story, motif and technique of writing between the "Journey to the West" and Chinese Buddhist story. With the contents of "Ekottaragama-sutra", "Bodhisattva's Practice Sutra", and "Mulasarvativinayavastu Vinaya chores" for example to do discussion, it can show the effect of learning by analogy, and can also increase specific examples for the actual evidence which influenced by Indian folk tales and Sutra.
