As a great composition of Tibetan oral tradition, the epic of king Gesar is honored as a encyclopedia of Tibetan culture. the experts and scholars at home and abroad have done lots of research from different aspects and angels of the epic and have published fruitful research results. By absorbing and integrating the previous research results, this thesis take the most famous war story between Stag-Gzig and Gling in King Gesar epic as the research object and basis on the "historic character" and "poetic feature" which are the two aspects of epic's attributes to figure out the specific place of the country "Stag-Gzig" which mentioned in the epic. I consider, the country which be called "Stag-Gzig" in King Gesar epic probably neither refers to the ancient Arab Empire in Central Asia nor relates to the fixed idea of "rich Stag-Gzig" in Tibetan concept which may have absorbed and practiced in oral epic tradition by Tibetan epic singer。By doing my fieldwork and heckling literature material, I consider that Stag-Gzig where the other researchers believed that it refers to the ancient Arab Empire in Central Asia is a misunderstanding. According to my work, "Stag-Gzig", acuturely can be located in the upper reaches of the Yellow River and to be more specific, "Stag-Gzig" is a ancient tribal nations where people in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau believe is the source of rivers and the source of yak, according to the depicts in the epic and refer to the linguistic analysis methods, the ancient tribal nation called "Stag-Gzig", according to the present administrative division in china, may located in Za Duo county Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai province, the very important plot in the King Gesar epic of the war between Stag-Gzig and Gling is based on the natural and humanistic environment in Za Duo county where has a lot remains and legend that relate to Stag-Gzig
