摘要: | 隨著國人愈來愈長壽,老人面臨的年齡歧視應和性別歧視、種族歧視一樣受到重視。本計畫旨在 分析大眾媒體文本如何以日常生活語言的形式建構老人的形象與負面刻板印象,並以經常在台灣有線 電視頻道重播以及在網路視頻平台上深受歡迎的周星馳經典電影為個案。既有文獻已指出,西方社會 本就隱含年齡歧視的意識形態,商業電影與電視喜劇針對老人角色所使用的歧視性語言,原本即取材 自日常生活的實際歧視經驗,但商業電影與電視喜劇的強大傳播擴散效果,使得這些在大眾媒體文本 中出現的歧視性語言強化了社會或觀眾對老人既有的負面刻板印象,不僅回過來更加穩固年齡歧視做 為西方社會的一種宰制意識形態,也連帶影響到老人對晚年生活的預期。臺灣的歷史、文化與社會脈 絡與西方迥異,本計畫希望著眼於臺灣社會特有的傳播與語言情境,分析這些影響臺灣跨世代族群至 深的華語流行喜劇電影文本,透過使用哪些歧視性語言、情節與敘事方式,建構老人的形象及再現針 對老人的負面刻板印象。
As more people in Taiwan live longer, ageism deserves to be emphasized just like sexism and racism. This research proposal is aimed to analyze how Chinese comedy films constructed older people’ images and negative stereotypes by everyday language. Hong Kong actor Stephen Chow’s classic films which have been rerun by the Cable channels all year round and popular on the Internet will be selected as cases. The existing literature indicated that with ageism as an ideology embedded in western society, the discriminative language against older figures in commercial comedy films were learned from actual experiences in everyday life. But the far-reaching communicative effect brought by comedy films reinforced the stereotypes of audience or the society against older people, which not only strengthened ageism as a dominant ideology in western societies in turn, but shadowed older people’s expectation toward their later years. Considering Taiwan’s historical , cultural and social contexts different from the western ones, the proposal is expected to focus on the particular communicative and linguistic situations in Taiwan, and to analyze how the comedy films constructed older people’ images and negative stereotypes, including the uses of discriminative language, plots and narrative structures. |
