The dye liquor extracted from onion's external hide and chay to dye cotton were used in this paper, we changed the pH value of dye liquor and dyeing time trying to find out the most suitable conditions of plant dyes on cotton. Moreover, we treated the dyed cotton with various metal ions and mordant consistency in the mordant procedure to probe into the effects of mordant relations on the dyeing properties and the variation of the shade of the cotton. Through the results of this experiment, we found that it could advance the effectiveness of coloration showed some are brown and some are olive. Besides, the dyeing fastness is improvement, too.
