以AT分類法對中國民間故事進行分析的，其一是丁乃通教授的《中國民間故事類型索引》（1978）；再者是金榮華教授的《民間故事類型索引（增訂本）》（2014）。就引用書目而言，可說是21世紀以來檢索中國民間故事範圍最廣的兩部類型索引。今以外國AT分類的索引與丁、金二氏索引做比對，得出僅見於中國的民間故事類型，藉以探討中國民間故事的文化特色。在中國特有的故事類型，普遍呈現的現象，在家庭生活故事裡突顯子女孝養父母、婆媳相處的問題；笑話裡多數的怕老婆故事，或與傳述對象有關。在社會生活方面，長工與地主的類型故事，顯示兩者的衝突與矛盾；智官判案故事裡的人情事理，體現民眾實際生活與期盼。有關民俗與神鬼世界的故事，呈現中國民間避諱禁忌、命定觀及佛道宗教信仰。中國語文的趣味，主要表現在成語、文句的句讀與諧音故事中，充分顯露民間運用語言表述的靈巧與諧趣。民俗文化是民間故事的根基，中國具有的民俗與社會制度下所產生的類型故事，反映中國庶民的生活與心理。丁乃通與金榮華教授這兩部類型索引的中國特有類型故事，實已彰顯中國民俗文化的特色。
To analyze Chinese Folk Tales by AT classification, one of famous indexes is Mr. Nai-Tung Ting ＂Chinese folk tale type index＂ (1978); another is the Professor Yung-Hua King ＂folk tale type index (updated version)＂ (2014). Both of type indexes was used the widest range terms of reference books in researching Chinese folk tale since the 21st century. To compare AT classification index with Mr. Ting and Mr. King's indexes, we can find in Chinese folk tale type, in order to explore the cultural characteristics of Chinese folk tales today. The unique story type is being the universal phenomenon in China. To emphasize that the children remain devoted parents, how to have a nice communication is a problem between a daughter-in-law and a mother-in-law. So many the joke storys about a husband is afraid of his wife are being a relationship with the storyteller. The conflicts and contradictions are obvious between the long-term worker and the landlord in terms of social life. It is reflecting the real life and wish of people in the story of the legal case. It is showing taboo, ordain concept and Buddhist religion in the folklore and ghost stories in Chinese folk. The delight of Chinese language is the main of showing the private language expressed skillful and humorous in the idiom, sentence and homophonic story. Folk culture is the foundation of folk tales. It is reflecting the Chinese common people's life and psychology in the folklore and the type of stories under the social system of China. It has been highlighting the characteristics of Chinese folk culture in two types of indexes of Chinese endemic type story from Mr. Nai-Tung Ting and the Professor Yung-Hua King.
