With stories described in "Hot People" of Wei-Jin and Southern and Northern dynasties as the object, this paper re-investigates and compares development situations of plots of four stories: "Fan-Zhi Spits the Pot", "Hu Gong Jumps into the Pot", "Taoist's Jugglery" and "Scholar in Yangxian". As per viewpoints of this paper, contents of "Hu Gong Jumps into the Pot" are not affected by "Fan-Zhi Spits the Pot"; the two should be story origins generated under different backgrounds and cultures and imply cultural meanings of subtle competition between Buddhism and Taoism. In addition, this paper also compars differences and similarities in contents and plots of these four stories one by one. Through a reference to evidences included in some historical literatures, it finds "Taoist's Jugglery" and "Scholar in Yangxian" should be simultaneously influenced by contents of "Fan-Zhi Spits the Pot" and "Hu Gong Jumps into the Pot".
