木質產品與民眾日常生活息息相關，本研究即針對台灣地區民眾為對象進行民眾之木質產品使用現況、消費習性、使用年限及使用後之處理方式等問卷調查，調查結果顯示：居住環境之家具的主要材質，不論在客廳、飯廳的桌椅或房間用的床具、櫥櫃，皆以木質材料占大部分。不同受訪者之個人基本資料及居住環境在對不同木質產品材質選擇上的差異程度不同。木製家具的使用年限則集中在6~15年；木門、木窗及木質地板的使用年限集中在6~20年；木質容器的使用年限集中在1~10年；木質裝潢用材的使用年限集中在6~15年；紙及紙製品的使用年限集中在1年以下。家庭用木質產品廢棄物處理方式，主要以當垃圾丟棄比例為較高，因此應建立一套家庭用木質產品廢棄物的回收機制，藉由家庭用木質產品廢棄物之再回收及再利用，不僅可延長木質產品的使用年限，也可減少木材砍伐的壓力，相信對碳貯存也有正面效果。
TWooden products are closely linked to people's daily life. This study focuses on survey of the current situation, consumer's habit, lifespan of usage, and handling method of wooden products in Taiwan. Research results show that the materials for home furniture, including desk and chairs in living room and dining room, or bedroom furniture and closets, are mostly wooden products. There are significant differences in selecting wooden product for interviewees with different personal data and living environment. The years of usage for wooden furniture are approximately 6-15 years, 6-20 years for wooden door, window, and floor, 1-10 years for wooden containers, 6-15 years for household decoration materials, less than 1 year for paper and paper products. The disposal methods of waste household wood products are mainly just throwing out as garbage; hence, a recycle mechanism for waste household wood product needs to be established. By recycling and reusing waste household wood-based product, it can not only extend the life-cycle of the wooden product, but also reduce the pressure of tree logging, which has positive effect on carbon sequestration.
