In this study, polyurethane microcapsules encapsulated citronella oil was prepared by an In-Situ polymerization. In order to examine the oil encapsulated efficiency, particle size and properties of controlled release of the polyurethane microcapsules. The parameters of the optimal ratio of core/wall and stirring speed were investigated. The results indicated that the optimal oil encapsulated efficiency was obtained at the ratio of 3.3g of wall membrane and 0.7g of core material. Increasing the stirring speed decreased the particle size. The particle size of polyurethane microcapsules were 79.6, 66.2, 49.9, 36.4µm at stirring speed of 200, 500, 1000, 2000rpm, respectively. The PVA aqueous solution was used as binder during the testing samples were dispersed on a rayon spunlaced nonvowen. It was founded that the added PVA treated samples appeared effect of the release up to 4.5 times than that without PVA treated samples.
