In December 2014, Kaohsiung Chinese Orchestra under Kaohsiung Philharmonic Cultural and Arts Foundation published an album on the title of Savoring the Best of Taiwan. In the album, the Follow the Music to Enjoy Kaohsiung by Law Wei-Lun describes features of the Kaohsiung city like the industrial park and other famous landmarks, and interpreting these city sceneries and cultural customs of the Kaohsiung city through the Chinese traditional music. The Legend of the Fish Lady by Chu Yun-Song takes the mythological stories and the folk songs of the Thao people, who live near Sun Moon Lake, as composing materials, and portrays the conflict and negotiation between the fish fairy in the lake and the Thao people for their over fishing behaviors through music to emphasize concepts of harmonious co-existence between human beings and nature and environmental awareness. Through working on these two pieces, the author expects to enhance the capabilities of musical analysis and interpretation, to express clearly while rehearsals and efficiently organize members in various degrees in order to accurately express the emotions and contents that composers pour in through their works. Last but not least, the study is sincerely expected to do some contributions to the development of Chinese orchestra in Taiwan, and much compositions of diverse Taiwanese materials are also expected to be composed and passed down.
