摘要: | The purpose of this paper is to examine the background conditions, the locational factors, and the time-space process of industrial development, as well as to discuss the changes of industrial investment environment and their responses. It also analyzes the changes of environmental structure on industrial development in Taiwan. This paper has been conducted through the geographic viewpoint by means of official statistics, surveys by questionnaires and multivariate analysis. In addition to official materials, both local and foreign, literature has been consulted and interpreted to support this research. The findings can be summarized as follows:
From both the analysis of industrial categories and regional distribution, it showed the tendency of decentralization, furthermore it was found that the extent and speed of centrifugal on industrial development were added day by day. Due to the interacting impact by internal and external factors, the environment of domestic industrial investment has been gradually deteriorated. To analyze the pattern of overseas investment by means of quantitative model Ⅱ, it was found that the overseas investment by firms was closely related to six items: factory size, products category, the source of original technology, sale type of products, subplant and investment of other industries. As the analysis shown, the range value dropped from the highest 2.41547 to the lowest 0.51546.
Due to the widespread and speedy growth of industries, the whole social-circumstances and regional environment have exhibited strong changes during the past 40 years. Also by factor analysis, the changes of environmental structure on industrial development include two parts: internal and external environmental structure. The former is divided into five factor types, and the latter can be classified into four factor types.
The trend of industrial development will turn into technology-oriented level for the future in Taiwan; hence it is very important to strengthen our independent ability on industrial technology. Through the findings of this study we can predict that the spatial changes of industrial development will continue to turn to the direction of decentralization. How to decentralize the domestic industry in Taiwan is an important task. On the other hand, the situation of investment environment for industrial development needs to be improved and dealt with at once. Lastly, we believe that the strict environmental control be not only the best strategy for economic recovery, but also the conservation of environmental value it is the best promise for concrete industrial growth in the future. |
