Based on the research done by French linguists, the usage of the passive voice in French occurs frequently in most academic-oriented research studies. Researchers have attributed this occurrence to its complex sentence structure, involving grammar, passive markers, types of verbs, verbal aspect and transformation between the active and passive sentence structure and so on. Compared with the active voice, passive voice is far more complex and troublesome in terms of the language unit, grammatical rules and structures. Therefore, for a bag time, the use of the passive has been the most heated topic of discussion in the field of linguistics and translation. Due to the complexity of language structure in the use of passive voice, difficulties in translation of this sort increase. This research is designed from the perspective of comparative linguistics to study the translation problems of passive voice in Chinese, French and English.
