王謨為清代乾嘉時期重要之輯佚學者，所纂輯之《漢魏遺書鈔》、《漢唐地理書鈔》，鈔錄秦漢以迄隋唐說經諸書及地理類遺書二百餘種，對於古代地理與學術思想史料，均有存亡補佚之貢獻，對於晚清張澍之輯《二酉堂叢書》、陳運溶之輯《麓山精舍叢書》及民國以後專以輯地理類遺書為主的輯佚著作，亦有直接而深遠的影響。然近日學者討論清代輯佚，多偏重於嚴可均、馬國翰、黃奭三家，論及王謨學術者甚少。故本文擬就王謨生平、輯佚著作、輯佚特色、輯佚缺失等方面略作考述，期能彰顯王謨輯佚之成就。
Wang Mo was a great historian in the Ching Dynasty. His publication, “Copied Books in the Han and Wei Dynasty” and “Copied Geography Books in Han and Dong Dynasty”, makes contributions to documentation preservation. Present researcher who study the collation and compilation of lost texts tend to concentrate on Ma Kuo-Han and Yen Ke-Jun. The achievement of Wang Mo's collating lose materials has not been mentioned and noticed. This paper will focus on the life and works of Wang Mo, the characteristics and disadvantages of lost materials so as to highlight Wang's achievement.
