The main purpose of this study is to examine the antibacterial activities and fabric dyeing of three crude plant extracts-Carthame Flos, Cartemisiae Argyifolium and Mume Fructus Fructuse, which extracted soxhlet process with two different solvents and times by fabrics of joined mordant agent or not were compared. The experimental results show that the extracting rate of Mume Fructuse with 70% ethanol solvent for 6 hours is the best, but Carthame Flos is the worst. The extracting rate of Cartemisiae Argyifolium with 70% ethanol solvent for 24 hours is the best, but Carthame Flos is the worst. The dyeing results of plant extracts for cotton, nylon, and wool fabrics show that the dye concentration is higher, the K/S value is bigger. The results of antibacterial test showed, the Mume Fnictus has obvious antibacterial effect using the qualitative method; the Mume Fructus also show higher antibacterial effect against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus than Carthame Flos and Cartemisiae Argyifolium using the quantitative method. All of the three crude plant extracts show the better antibacterial effect against Staphylococcus aureus.
