The semantic differential and the colour psychophysical estimation methods are used in this study to investigate the music image of the piano melody of Brahms op118.In addition, the factor analysis is also used to derive the relationship between the piano melody of Brahms op118 and colour. The results show that the auditors examined have a common image tendency to a specific piece of melody. This finding indicates that a good corresponding relationship between music and colour images may be constructed. But, more field trials are needed to verify it.
