In this paper I intend to analyze Wang Yang Ming’s and Zhu Xi’s "Zhi Xing" in order to examine the compatibility of their theories in three aspects. First, I will focus on the definition of Wang Yang Ming’s "Zhi Xing" and highlight significant details in the reasoning process of "Zhi Xing." Second, based upon the detailed analysis of such process, I will further find out the possible compatibility of Zhu’s and Wang’s theories. In addition to the investigation of "Gong Fu" in their theoretical compatibility, I will also illustrate how such idea relates to and fits into the "moral conscious" of Zhi’s "Zhi Xing." In my conclusion, I will explain how such theoretical compatibility is possible as well as its possible scope.
